I got my first Victorinox SAK around 1975, aged 12. It said "Camping" on the scale and had a fully serrated main blade and hawk bill small blade. A saw and the other standard implements. Sadly lost it some years later. I'm fine with the standard red scales, thank you very much.

Not very good knifes, spent over 20 years in the military did not see a single victorinox carried, lots of leathermans though

Hi jon, brill edc vid like always, if you haven't done one already and I've missed it, could you try and do a all uk made edc, ie trove wallets they look fab great price will get one , but I'd like to see more uk companies making edc, a video on the ones you find would be brilliant.

those tracking cards are a waste of money if i still a wallet im going to check for those thangs and toss em they help nothing just sound good is all

No precision finding on that wallet card with apple find my. No currently manufactured card has precision finding.

The luminox is 500 and not even automatic.

This is very useful. I have done this with a flex drill bag I got when I bought the drill. It fits a 12oz hammer and the Bosch drill. it has the side pockets for easy access to pliers and hand drivers etc. this to me is edc. Because everywhere I go my car is there.

The Nitecore torch looked good initially as I’m all for simplicity but the 2 light intensities go from one extreme to the other, there should be a third option for “normal use” at maybe 400 lumen

The problem with most sling bags is that they have large buckles and when the bag is a the front of you the buckle is situated on your back or where rucksack straps will be on your front. This makes carrying a sling with a rucksack uncomfortable. The only sling that I know of that doesn't do this is from Heilkon Tex (no affiliation). So I now carry a handbag and most handbags have more comfortable design allowing it to be carried easily and comfortably with a rucksack. Since my sling or handbag always carries my important documents, money and phone I never have it out of sight, it is always in front of me. As an alternative, when traveling on planes, I carry neither a handbag or a sling bag as when they are places in front of me it makes eating on a plane difficult without taking them off, which I never do. Instead of a bag I wear a gillet with lots of pockets and never take it off. On the issue of luggage locaters, I had my checkin bag opened by security when traveling to China because it contained a lithium battery, the one in side my Apple Airtag. They left the airtag inside but left a note too explain that lithium batteries are not allowed.

Honestly, I disagree. Victorinox still makes exceptional pocket knives. There's not much left to be perfected. They are just great and I understand that it's difficult to make more PRACTICAL tools. The thing is, I have an impression that you expect them to invent some new gimmicks, which is actually a total opposite of the brands DNA, which you claim you want them to preserve, and which is the practical, solid, stainless, mass produced and affordable pocket knife. I think their DNA is perfectly fine, they make a lot of pocket knives, still have the good old models and tools, don't cut the quality, don't overprice or make it like some luxury item, they introduce some collectors pieces and gimmicks but they don't focus on them. And their customer service is premium quality. Collectors and fans of gadgets never was and shouldn't ever be the company's target customers. Fragrances, suitcases etc. are not important, totally different products, just for spreading the brand and market awareness, also for cross selling.

Glad to see a proper torch for once rather than the gimmicky Wuben crap that always breaks. Nitecore stuff is solid and dependable

I've noticed that here, in Australia, most blokes who carry a small bag, and the number is increasing, tend to go for a "portrait" style who rather than "landscape" style like so many of the slings that you feature I wonder why that is? I think I preferring landscape... Nice pen, but the Space Pen takes some beating with its detachable clip... I have come to regret buying my Anker ten thousand milliamp power bank, I took it on a trip to Europe recently but it was so big and heavy at 175 grams, I really hated it carrying it around in my hand luggage. It's apparent ruggedness appealed to me at the time but I wish I bought the Nightcore NB 10,000 now. I don't think much of the mt2c torch, I don't think "less is more" applies here. Coming on at full brightness is a show stopper as is the omission of a moonlight mode, I've so many reasons not to buy this but I can see it's appeal to some people-security or emergency services perhaps? But in saying that I have stopped expecting everything from an Everyday Carry torch. Consequently, I carry a Rovyvon For EDC and the Phoenix pd32 additionally when I think I'm going to need it. Anticipation is sometimes problematic though. I don't carry a wallet anymore having had the experience of losing one sometime ago and the hassle of replacing all those cards, but finally, I'm very excited about that range of stationary from Turkey and will definitely be investigating that. But thanks for a great video they're always entertaining.

I agree with you about the Pioneer X. It has all the most used tools, and especially the inline awl, which is my most-used Swiss Army tool.

I've been searching for a sling and that tomtoc looks perfect for me, so I appreciate the video! I also love the minimal branding, which is my main complaint with other slings. I'd order it now if only it were still in stock.

My beef with Tomtoc products is the straps are too slippery.
